Real Indian Celebrations at Oscar

What a day it is at Oscar (The most respected awards for movies globally). WOW! Probably no awards until now might have been celebrated in the slums of Mumbai and at the villages of UP as what it has celebrated for Oscars.
Oscar awards, ARR, Danny, Slumdog millionaire and Smily Pinki has given hopes and happiness to so many Indians who fight for their livelihood. This day will change their life, they have gained hopes and they will be even more optimistic about life.
Many thanks for SM and SP team to showcase the other part of India which many Indians close their nose and eyes. Now, its the same areas which have got those awards.
ARR, has always been my inspiration and am extremely happy for him to win the double awards back to back and make our country proud.
It was great to watch who were walking in the red carpet along with legends like ARR, Danny, Kate, Brad and much more globally celebrated people. It was the kids from the slums of Mumbai and Pinki. What a day of hope and optimism for all those Indians who have been neglected longtime.
Jai ho is probably not the best of ARR but undoubtedly its probably one of the ever best inspiring songs ever created in the world by any musician.

The Oscars are indeed an achievement for our country and I share your excitement Vishwak. But I also believe that if the attention on India's slums and poverty begins and ends on the Academy's red carpet, then there is really nothing to celebrate. Will NGOs, Human rights organisations, child welfare organisations etc. atleast now receive the support they need to clean out Asia's largest slum? This is the question India must now ask itself and quickly find an answer to.

Yeah! in a way your right. I guess, things will change within those people living in the slums and as well as other organizations who will take lots of initiative to make things better.

hey Well thanks for visiting my blog and posting comment !
btw yes Oscars this time was bagged for Indian stories and movies shot here ..
but the difference is that shot by a brit / westerner ..
well most momentous being the win by ARR and Resul .. :)
and yes Smile Pinki 's success has prompted many other doctors to do a free cleft lip surgery for about 10 poor children !!
thats a good sign .. and hope this movie of SDM does help those kids at Dharavi get formal education ...

Hi Meenakshi,
Thanks for your comments and yes i guess their life is changing. The longtime pending project of restructuring Dharavi is being reexamined.
Btw, your blogs were too irresistible and made me to read. however i limited myself when it came to comments. The one best read thro i had was the misCommunication article.
